Hi.
Do both settings say never, if I may ask? Keep in mind there are two
boxes for system stand-by. Further, there may be a combo box in that same
dialogue about how long after inactivity to wait before hibernation. Again,
this has two boxes, one for power, the other for batteries. Are these set to
never, too? (these do not, in my experience, appear by default, but they may
be there on your system).
If they are all set to never, you may wish to look at the dialogue
box you get after a long period of inactivity. Is it the standard windows
log on dialogue, a lock computer dialogue, or something else? Finally, you
may wish, in that power options dialogue, to hit ctrl+shift+tab twice. Tab
until you hear "prompt for password when the computer resumes from standby".
Try unchecking that and see where it gets you. It may prevent logging out on
its own, though it may not prevent stand-by if that, indeed, is why your
system is logging out.
