Thanks, I'll check it out with not only jfw. :) Curtis Delzer ----- Original Message ----- From: ryan Perdue To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, May 15, 2008 2:17 PM Subject: Re: latest version of Jaws and Windows fire wall the website is http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_firewall.html It's a very good product with a lot of features. You have to use the jaws cursor a lot and it's hard to know what's going on. If someone is able to write scripts for it, I think it would be a great firewall to use. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Curtis Delzer" <curtis@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, May 15, 2008 12:47 PM Subject: Re: latest version of Jaws and Windows fire wall > where do I find komodo? > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "ryan Perdue" <ryan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Monday, May 12, 2008 5:02 PM > Subject: Re: latest version of Jaws and Windows fire wall > > > I'm not sure which firewall is best with jfw but, I do know that look n stop > hasn't rated well in many firewall challenges I've seen. > Komodo works well but, it's a pain to configure with jfw and is quite > verbose and confusing to a newer computer user. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Curtis Delzer" <curtis@xxxxxxxxxx> > To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Monday, May 12, 2008 3:16 PM > Subject: Re: latest version of Jaws and Windows fire wall > > >> Problem with look & Stop is that the rules as configured don't allow >> talking >> to your network as set up before it is installed, and Magic Jack, another >> problem (again by default), so if you install Look & Stop, prepare >> yourself >> to do some looking around the options to make rules for these >> considerations. >> >> Curtis Delzer >> ----- Original Message ----- >> From: "Renette Bloem" <renette@xxxxxxxxxxx> >> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >> Sent: Sunday, May 11, 2008 11:47 AM >> Subject: RE: latest version of Jaws and Windows fire wall >> >> >> Hi Chris >> >> I shall definitely give Look'n'Stop a try. >> >> However, my problem with turning Windows Firewall on, is that I do go to >> Windows Firewall in the Control Panel and saw on the general tab that >> windows fire wall is off. >> >> My question is how do I get the checkbox checked using Jaws to turn it on? >> >> I do not manage with the Jaws cursor and a sighted friend failed using the >> mouse. >> >> Does one switch this on by going to one of the other tabs - exception tab >> or >> advance settings? >> >> Then, can Look'n'Stop be used with AVG and Windows Defender? >> >> Is Look'n'Stop a free program? >> >> Thank so much! >> >> Renette >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On >> Behalf Of Chris Hallsworth >> Sent: 11 May 2008 17:46 >> To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >> Subject: Re: latest version of Jaws and Windows fire wall >> >> >> Hi, you can turn it on by opening Windows Firewall in Control Panel, >> however >> the problem is that Windows Firewall only protects incoming traffic and >> allows all outgoing traffic to go through.
