I don't think there's an option for that, but since the treeview is open by default, it works exactly like a list anyway, except that there are now category headings in the list along with options. Those who don't want to change how they use it can still read through it, type single letters to jump to specific options, etc. Those who want to take advantage of the new structure can also close all or specific branches of the tree to find options of interest more quickly by category. So in other words, I think there's nothing lost for people who liked it the way it was, and a few things gained for people who were getting lost in long option lists.
