for windows xp, can you bring up narrator and read the error message, bring up task manager and see if jfw is in the list and end its task? If you can read the error message, try to copy it down and send it to: softwaresupport@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx along with any details that may be of help such as what you were doing when the problem occurred, your os, and other system specs including version of jaws, serial number and what synth you are using. If you can end the task, see if you can restart jaws without shutting down the pc. if this fails, see if you can restart he pc normally. If this all fails, put it in yor request for assistance to freedom. ----- Original Message ----- From: "chevelle" <chevelle33@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2004 11:49 AM Subject: Re: jaws stopping and refusing to start up I've had the same problem also. I am using jaws 5.0.844, and windows xp home. When the described situation happens I can't even unload jaws to reload it. I also have to do a cold shutdown. ----- Original Message ----- From: "david poehlman" <poehlman1@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2004 11:40 AM Subject: Re: jaws stopping and refusing to start up > what os are you using?
