jaws sometimes cutting out

Sometimes no matter where I am, and what I am doing, jaws will cut out. I
have done a repair on my jaws, version 5.0, and I also have windows 98se. Is
this a jaws problem or a sound card problem. I have two sound cards. Only
one is activated, it comes from the mother board. Glenna
