Isn't the setting in Configuration Manager->Text processing something
else? As far as I know if JAWS controls punctuation then the correct
place to modify it is in the voice profile. I'm not sure how to
modify it if the synthesizer controls punctuation, except for SAPI
voices.

In JFW10 this would be done through global voice adjustment, in jfw11
you create/modify voice profiles then use the select voice profile
dialog to associate a voice profile with an application if you want a
non-default profile.

Also there are some marks that can't be overridden, they will speak
regardless of your punctuation setting.

I also know that in jfw10 the punctuation manager does not work
insofar as it claims to be able to modify the spoken text for marks.
I've tried several times to get it to speak 'bang' for ! and 'hash'
for # and 'underscore' instead of underline'). That functionality
works in jfw11 though.
