your system configuration is about the same with me the only difference is I'm
using jaws 7.0, but i don't seems have the same
problem that you are facing now. Perhaps you may try to make sure that there is
no others program is running behind.

my system configuration is as follows:
pentium 4 3.2 ghz 64 bit pc with 2 gb ram with a windows xp home sp2
operating system.
i am running jaws v5.
