I am using jaws 12, and when I did that ctrl shift d then I got a list of all
sorts of punctuation marks, and when I changed them, it did not save them, so
when I went back into adobe or notepad they were back the way they were be4 I
changed them?

First, what version of jaws are you using?

Second, the insert plus V is a temporary change. If you want to make it
permanent go to the configuration manager/settings center (insert plus 6) while
the aplication you like to change is in focus. This way, you will only change
the aplication file. If you want to make it permanent owever, press shift,
control and d on the configurations manager/settings center.

PS, don't worry, we were there once too. The best thing about this list is all
the help you will get.

Subject: jaws not remembering my punctuation settings

hi guys:
I am a relatively new jaws user, and I have a couple of questions?

1: if I am in either notepad, or adobe reader, or some other application where
I want punctuation read, and I do an insert-v and change the punctuation from
most all, and hit enter. then it works until I alt-tab away and come back to
that application, and it reverts back to where it was. how do I get jaws to
remember the punctuation settings so I don’t have to keep doing the insert-v
all the time?

2. in consecutive to question 1, I went into manage application settings, and
it only gave me 7 choices, how do I add more applications to this list of apps
I can modifiy independently of the default jaws settings file?

please be patient with me am pretty new at jaws’s concepts, converted from old
window-eyes days
