With regard the upcoming patch, have you tried going back to JAWS 8 to see if
you still lose focus?
Use JAWS 8 until/if the patch comes out.

I just heard that Freedom is coming out with a patch to solve the problem
of jaws losing focus. Part of me will believe it when I see it and the other
part is skeptical. Freedom recognizes this problem and has promised to fix it
in the next issue. However, all of us have our current versions of jaws and
need help now. To the best of my understanding this is why they are coming out
with a patch. Let's wait and see. Judith
