No, although the placemarker you set on a page in a website often will work for
other pages on that website. But each set of placemarkers is limited to one
website. Otherwise, you'd have total confusion.

Terminology here is important. JAWS uses the term "placemarker" for what we all
think of as a bookmark. I thought for a moment you might be asking about web
browser favorites, but I don't think you are.

I went to the first page and tried to set up book mark. Then I went to another
page on a different web site and tried to access my book marks which I set up
for another web site. Is that possible?
Thanks.
Hina.

I'm confused. Are you saying you tried to go to the bookmark you set on one
page after going to a second page? Or are you saying you went to a second
webpage, then returned to the first to find the bookmark? Only this latter
option makes sense.

Here's a tip. From JAWS 11 on, you can anchor the bookmark not just to the
position on a page, but also to selected text. Often the place you want to save
doesn't stay in one position, so the text anchor is very helpful.

As Dave indicated, press shift-control-k to open the placemarker dialog. Tab
through and select as appropriate. Eventually you'll reach the anchor field.
The text you want may already be there. If not, type it in. Make sure you check
the box for the anchor option.

Ok I tried setting a book mark, and then closed the web site. Then I opened
another site and tried that book mark key K but it is not taking me anywhere.

Hina,

Next time you're on a place you want to mark, press Ctrl+Shift+k and you'll
discover the place markers dialog.

Once set you return to place markers just by the letter "K".

Hi
I think jaws can set up book marks on web pages, how can I set book marks and
then retrieve them? Do I need to be on the same site to get to the book mark I
set?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
Hina.
