Thanks. I understand that this works for WIFI.. however, she needs to be
able to connect using the AT&T cellular network. I haven't noticed cellular
networks being listed in the standard Windows 7 network screen. Have you
been able to connect to a cellular using the method you described?

Michael,

I use an HP laptop with JAWS 11 and Windows 7, and have no problem accessing
a USB WIFI adaptor. Here is how your friend should be able to do it:

First of all, the laptop's built-in WIFI hardware should be turned off so it
doesn't interfere with the AT&T Aircard. The easiest way to turn it off is
to press the WIFI button which should be located above the laptop's
keyboard.

To access the Aircard, she should be able to access it from the sys-tray. Do
this by pressing Insert + F11 and arrow down until JAWS says something about
network and WIFI signals being available. Now press the tab key twice and
hit enter.

Now you should be in a list containing available WIFI signals. The quality
of each signal and whether they are unsecured will be stated. When you find
an unsecured signal that is strong enough to be used, just hit enter on it,
and then press the connect button it now displays. Now you should be
connected to the web, and can start up a browser or e-mail program.

Hello,
I am trying to help someone using JFW 11 and Windows 7 on an HP laptop. She
has just received her AT&T aircard and is connecting the Aircard through a
USB dongle. The problem is that JAWS sees practically nothing in the AT&T
connection manager software, including the connect and disconnect buttons
for 3G or EDGE cellular networks. The AT&T Aircard device is manufactured
by LG. anyone been able to use JAWS with the AT&T connection manager
software shipped with their Aircard? Are there other ways to use the AT&T
Aircard?
Thanks.
