jaws 8.0 for avg 7.5

Hello All,
I'm having some problem here,because I just got an e-mail from a friend told me
that my computer have a virus and I have avg set up automatic . How can I get
the avg to do a full scan for the virus in my computer? I will appreciate for
any answer from you all. I noticed all last week that avg pop in the window and
it's was download avg and it was set automatic.
