iTunes is a pretty bloated program and it may be because of heavy processor
usage. I find that pressing the stop button in iTunes when it is doing the
whoel ?determining volume? thing helps. Also, you can disable a lot of
unnecessary features in the program like bonjour, apple tv sharing etc if
you don?t? need them. There?s a good article on the how-to-geek website that
breaks all this down and tells you how to disable a lot of unneeded stuff. I
don?t have the article on hand, but it?s easy enough to search for on the
site. Give that a try and see if it improves anything?

Not sure what is going on, but when reading a message, using itunes, and
navigating the web, Jaws speech is choppy and cuts out the first part of
