I do think this is short sighted of freedom scientific, and may post a question
to the jaws scripting list to see how to fix the "unknown function called"
error.

But I would then have to remember to make the same changes to any update that
came along. I'm not sure if it's worth it.

BTW, in checking through google for a program, I discovered that those with
windows/7 can already copy the full path of a file to the clipboard. Sorry I
don't remember how to do it in windows/7 since I don't have that beastee.

  Bob,

Thanks for the update. I also tried what you did and got the same result.

I originally asked the question because a program I found with google
required a shift right click to paste the full path into the clipboard.

Before downloading copypath, I went into the default script, found the
script for shift left click and reproduced it changing "left" to "right". To my
surprise, it compiled fine. But when I tried it out I got an "unknown function
called" error. Rather than chase that down--assuming I could find it--I found
copypath, ran it and am happy.

I think the answer to your question is in the above paragraph somewhere.

      Elf,

I use copyPath all the time exactly as you've described. However I fail
to see how it relates to the original question as to how to emulate a
Shift+Right Mouse Button using JAWS and a standard computer keyboard.

What am I missing here, Elf?

the program was mentioned in a prior post of mine about this problem

        its called "copypath"
and you can Google it with ease, it puts its entry on the right click
menu, the applications key menu and the file menu's so its available in file
and folder views.
go to the file, hit apps key, enter on copypath, and go paste it into
where you need the path to the (insert object here) entered

          Hi Inthane;

What is the alternative program you mentioned to avoid that awkward
mouse click trouble? I didn't notice any programs mentioned in this email.
Thanks much. Take care.

            ah,

not with jaws, but you can move the little mouse item over where
you can get at it, maybe remove the ball (if its a ball driven mouse) or put
tape over the optical sensor on the bottom so you can't move the cursor with it,
then when you get to the item to be "clicked on" route jaws to pc
and then do the deed by holding the shift key and hitting the real right mouse
button once!

or if you can use the alternative program I mentioned to avoid that
awkward mouse click trouble.

              Ok. Thanks folks.

I tried the shift applications key and jaws reported "shift
applications" but it didn't bring up the expected menu.

Shift numpad star (I'm using a desktop) gave me a little bing
sound (meaning "don't do that") and jaws said "star".

So I conclude you can't do it with jaws. Too bad.

              Thanks for the help.

As far as I can see, the jaws script language has a shift left
mouse click, but no right click with shift. It says in the description for
shift left click that it selects contiguous files in a list or edit box. This
sounds like shift down arrow or up arrow.

                  John,

Nope. Not even close. He's wanting the right mouse button
click with shift, not the movement.

alt + shift + arrow right, left, up, and down.

Okay I downloaded a freeware package to copy the full
filepath to the clipboard.

The only thing is, in order to do this I have to do a
shift right mouse click on the filename in windows explorer.

Does anyone know how to do a shift right mouse click with
jaws?

                      Thanks.
