Sorry you're having such trouble. I don't know why you're getting that 
message. That sort of thing's never happened to me. Maybe someone else here 
understands what's happening with that.  Good luck.

I did that and it just says it can't continue because there's another
instance installed. probably because I got the latest version via update but
I downloaded what I thought was the latest version to try that with last
night with the same luck. I'll try again though. I guess if that doesn't
work I'll just do a complete reinstall as much as I'd rather not.
