This version I'm talking about was 7.10.
I could use a hot key to turn off flash and wanted to know how to use jaws 8
help to find the command again.
I guess it's been replaced with the insert v command.
thanks for the help!

Just how many versions of Jaws ago are you talking about? This Insert V menu
has been around, now, for a couple of versions already. And what was the
deal with the "help on help" subject line? I never understood what it meant?

You were having trouble navigating the Jaws help system, or something like
that? I have a feeling that this is a subject line that just never got
changed, even as what was being discussed did change. Which I recommend--
changing, that is-- if you really want to discuss Jaws 8 and Winamp, and I
am sure you'll get responses. I just heard elsewhere that Winamp has just
released a Beta version of a new update or upgrade that they say is more
navigable again with Jaws, after a lot of complaints, especially about the
Library function. But I don't know anything about that, because I don't use
Winamp.

Good luck.

Thanks guys and gals.
I still think the previous versions of jaws had a hot key and now understand
why I can't find it again.
I also don't like the way jaws 8 behaves with win amp I'm not sure what they
changed!
Good day!

Hi,

It isn't a hotkey. It's just an option on the Jaws verbosity menu you can
pop up while using an application with Insert V. So press Insert V, and now
press F until you hear "Flash Movies-On," then press the spacebar to toggle
it off, and you'll hear "Flash Movies-Off." Now tab once to Close, and press
Enter.
Hope that's what you need.

I'm trying to locate the short cut key to turn off flash on a web page.
I have version 8 and it seems like the hot key is not available any more.
I need some guidance how to utilize the help so I'm not frustrated looking
for a short cut key combinition.
Thanks for any help.

Steve

I had a look at the "Notification area Hide inactive icons" checkbox and it
is not checked.

I think for sighted users there is a cross or something on which they click
to show the full list of items of the system tray.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

R

Renette,

Try opening the Start menu, going into the Settings submenu and choosing
TaskBar and Start menu. This will open a dialogue; Tab to the "Notification
area Hide inactive icons" checkbox and make sure it's not checked.

Hi All

If there are too many icons in the system tray, then this collapses
and some icons are not visible there any more, they are only back
when one clicks on an arrow to show all the icons again. I have,
however, no idea how to use this with JAWS.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Renette
