hi,
1. normally, if you take off the power cable, the laptop shouldn't be turn 
off. if this happen, your laptop battery life maybe over.
no it is brand new that is  why I am asking questions, how does one charge a 
new battttery?


2. how old is your laptop?
my lap top is 4 years old.


3. do you need to put the power cable on each time you turn the laptop on?
yes because the battery is brand new.
