I mean to say, for example, if my scheduled scan is Sunday around 12 p.m. and
my computer is not switched on at that time but hours later.
I have noticed on such a scenario that no scanning is reported in terms of
the schedule.
Is the scheduled scan then ignored?
Do I then have to do the scanning manually?
I hope my explanation is clear enough.

When MSE does a scan, it can slow down other programs and processes. This
is because MSE uses some of your memory and processor time.
When the box:
"Start scheduled scan only when my computer is in use".
is unchecked, you can walk away from your computer and let the scan take
place while it is not in use, and when you return it will be done. You avoid
having the scan being done while you are doing something important. Otherwise,
JAWS might seem sluggish, or stop talking altogether for a while.

The best free anti virus program to use with JAWS 9 is Microsoft
Security Essentials. It is more JAWS friendly and lighter on resources than
Avast and AVG.
