Sorry, I didn't mean the Jaws cursor. I meant the regular cursor. The
virtual cursor. Sorry. I heard "Jaws" as meaning "the cursor we use when
Jaws is turned on." Sorry. My bad, as they say.

Hi, no the jaws cursor follows the mouse pointer where your jaws cursor =
is
is on the mouse pointer so as you move your jaws cursor you move the =
mouse
pointer. The pc cursor on the other hand simply gives the control of =
the
cursor or highlight or what ever to the application and jaws reads what =
it
thinks it should. =20

May I add that in a program like Word, the main point of focus on the =
page=20
is *not* the mouse pointer. That's just a tool for doing things, like=20
selecting something, scrolling, clicking a button, and so forth. the =
focus=20
point for the eyes and for the program is in fact a cursor, which can be =

changed in appearance to be tall, or short, or look sort of like a steel =
I=20
beam. That's where you are within your text, and that's what the Jaws=20
cursor follows.

If this is not clear enough, I'll try to describe it again. But the=20
discussion seemed to be getting sort of abstract so I thought this=20
clarification might help.

Hi, this is not true see the notepad find command in windows. In most =
=3D
cases the sighted person or any other user would use the find command =
while
editing or reading text. Internet explorer uses a verchual find in =3D =
order
to simulate a cursor so the ie find built in only searches the web page =
=3D
does not place a cursor any where because in a standard web page there =
is no
cursor on the screen there is a mouse pointer that the sighted user =3D =
moves
on the screen.=3D20

It might help in this discussion to realize that a sighted person =3D
doesn't,=3D20 like a blind person, use a find command to place a cursor =
on a
specific=3D20 word, so the find command as we use it would have little =
if any
=3D relevance=3D20 to a sighted person.
