Umm. Okay. I was asking about the Dectalk 32. I have no experience with
anything but Eloquence, except for a few trial runs with these RealSpeak
voices that come as accessories with Jaws 8. I don't consider them practical
alternatives to my good old Eloquence Reed, in terms of either
responsiveness or phonetic clarity. I enjoy a few of the accents, but that's
about it. So I wouldn't use these just to avoid some problem like the
epileptic Caesar. Or was it Julius Seizure, ruler of the Roman Empire?

So I was asking about the DecTalk 32 someone recommended. I just wanted to
know where you get that synth, and is it software or hardware. Again, maybe
I misunderstand the response below, but it seemed as if I asked about
DecTalk 32 and was told about RealSpeak in reply. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Hi. No, they are software, just like JAWS. check out

http://www.nextup.com, on that site, you can purchase some of the
realspeak solo voices, but as I said previously if you have the CD
version of JAWS 8, you should also have a CD with the realspeak
voices. They are not tied to JAWS, so any other program that uses
sapi 5 synthesizers, even other screenreaders on your system can use them.
