You won't find anything to do with VAIO on an Acer computer. VAIO is a
Sony-branded computer.
Just look for any energy-saving or power-saving options that might have an
impact on turning off your hardware.

Hi! I'm not familiar with Acer, but from what you describe I would think so.
Give it a try. If you have Windows 7, just press the Windows key and type
the word energy. Then click on Energy Options, should be the first hit, and
then click on Extended Options. Next to the Extended tab is a tab for VAIO
energy management.

Hi robert Does acer have there own energy management tab as well? The
reason why I am asking because When I boot up my laptop the dvd rom
drive turns off after booting And I get this same error message that you
described. Will this solution work on my acer as well?
