editing msconfig.exe in xp media center

Hi List,
Anyone know how to edit the msconfig.exe file in xp media center using jfw
8? I had an occasion to look at the file and it is cluttered with
references to programs that no longer exist. I would like to clean this
file in hopes it will be much easier to read. Thanks for any help.
