the comments are definately there. I split the document into two so the
totals in each wer less than the 243 and the "missing" comments appeared in
the smaller set. that is not the optimal solution however.

I've got 4 gb RAM on the laptop (3 of which XP uses) so memory should not be
the issue.

hopefully FS will have some suggestions on the problem.

Bill, long ago I had a related problem with another word processor. The
cause turned out to be limited memory on my machine at the time--not what I
expected. Neither JAWS nor the processor had anything to do with it. I'm
suggesting you look into this third factor as well.

Another thought. Have you checked to confirm that specific comments are
actually missing? I'm wondering if the error is in the initial count.

Subject: does JAWS have max on number of comments in Word doc?

I'm using JFW 11, Word 03, win xp. in legal document about 160 pages long,
I've inserted 280 comments, when I use ctl-sft- apostrophe, jaws says it is
processing 280 items, but the list comes up with only 243 of them. when I
use the Win-semicolon stroke to pull up virtual display of the comments it
only displays 243...??? Does anyone have any take on this problem? it is a
significant issue for me as a law student as I'm often reading large
documents and use comments to, well, make my comments and notes. help would
be apreciated.
