Hi Judith,

No, I didn't say "USB player." Or if I did, I apologize.

USB is a type of wiring within your computer that is used to connect, and
sometimes power, numerous devices these days, from many printers to things
like what are called flash drives, such as the memory card inside some mp3
type players. USB stands for universal serial bus. the others here
understand what that means in terms of a computer's circuitry. I don't, and
I don't think it matters here. The point is, a USB port is a jack, so to
speak, where you plug in devices that are USB-powered.

So I was only using this as an example of how you simply find a folder or
drive on your system by using the regular file management interface, Windows
Explorer being the example I gave. The same procedure would apply to
looking at your CD drive. Just open Windows Explorer, arrow down to your
C:\ drive (the C drive is the main area of most people's computers, where
all your various folders are). Make sure Jaws says that the drive is closed
rather than open, and if it's open, press the left arrow to close it. This
is just to save you having to arrow down through all the folders on the
drive before finally getting to the CD drive.

Then arrow down a step or two more until you come to the drive that is your
CD drive. Your screen reader will announce that it's the CD or DVD/CD
drive, and announce its drive letter, such as D.

Then you simply press the tab key, which will put you into the files list
view, which shows all the contents of that drive, and you can arrow up and
down those files and do whatever you want to with them.

Hope this is more clear. It may sound like a lot of steps, but it's a
completely ordinary, everyday thing to do and is easily learned.
Daniel
