Hello Renette,

Focus on compatibility with assistive technology in general, not JAWS
specifically. In fact, System Access to Go at http://www.satogo.com is
totally free and would probably represent an excellent way to freely test
accessibility issues. There's also NVDA at http://www.nvda-project.org for
this purpose. NVDA is totally open source as well.

As far as web accessibility, there's always the Web Accessibility Initiative
(WAI):

Subject: designing a website suitable for Jaws users

Hi Everybody

I was approached by somebody who offered to improve a website dealing with
disabled cycling.

Some of the users will of course be blind, because tandem cycling is part of
disabled cycling.

My question:

This person is a computer programmer, but knows nothing of how blind people
access the computer environment.

Are there any websites that he can visit to find helpful information how to
design a website to work well with Jaws and screenreaders in general?

He came across "webbIe" - which seems to be a program helping people to
design websites for visually impaired people. Is he on the right track?

Thanks so much.

Renette
