Hello,

First of all is your hard drive seen as 160GB? Go to My Computer and highlight it and if you don't see the size, free space etc. on the status line, press alt plus enter. That screen will give you the above information and you can close the property sheet with the escape key.
Next, is there anything loading at startup such as MSN or some programs which you can unload so that Windows will have more memory with which to do the job? Third, you could try the defrag with your screenreader unloaded and try and judge whether it is still running by the noise you get from the drive. Just some ideas.

Subject: defraging question

I have a strange situation here. I had to put in a new hard drive, so I got a 160g. Now, when I try to defrag my system I get the message that I don't have enough memory. I have 512 memory on a 98 2ed system with Jaws 6.o. I ask a computer service person about this and they were puzzled and had no answer. Any body got a clue? Thanks!
