Dorothy, to be clear, this thread is about IE8 and JAWS 9. I've had no
problems with IE8 while using JAWS 11, and I recall no posts saying
otherwise.

 gerald in the uk a list owner  went to a german exhibition and came back
full of doom and gloom,and many were to fearful to try it, a tech support
even had to tell people in advance how hard it could be to remove once
loaded but it all fizzled out,it was just new and in Uk many were fearful I
loaded the darned thing and just stuck it out and soon many clever people
wrote free help,you have seen some on this list I think

FS tech support doesn't know what it's talking about.  I have been using IE8
successfully with JAWS 9 for over a year.

Mr. Carlson was correct when he asked me about I.e. 8. I wrote to Freedoms
tech support and was told I.E 8. was not compatible with jfw 9. 
 
I removed it and went back to seven and all is well.
