Hi Renette,

I don't have Outlook on this machine but I do on the one at work so I am working a little from memory, quite possibly someone else will be a little more specific but perhaps I can get you started along the way of fixing this.

In the View menu you will find Current View.

In here there are some settings to look at, they include the various columns which appear on the screen. The ones you see will be marked with a checkbox checked. Some you may not want and this will give you more room across the screen to display the ones you do want.

You may be willing to give up things like status which shows if you have replied to a message for example to give you more room.

I think you can then tab to a field which shows how many pixels wide that field will be. You can adjust this so you can increase the width of the subject line field or the date field and you can change the properties of the date field to something shorter like YYYY/DD/MM rather than Sunday, October 15, 2006, the numbers obviously shorter and this will leave more room for the subject or sender fields.

Finally, you can move the sequence of those fields so, if you want the sender first then the date and then the subject or what ever sequence you like.

There is a field you enter on which moves the column up and another which moves it down in the sequence order.

Now I am pretty sure this is within the Current View, certainly it is in the View menu. I can't remember either if you have to be in a message to get those choices but I don't think so.

Hope this helps getting started.

Just while I have your attention, I was in school nearly 40 years ago with a Peter Bloem and an Erna, I am not now certain of the spelling, both were from South Africa, just wondered if there is a connection?

Subject: customizing Microsoft Outlook 2000

Hi Everybody

I have recently switched from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook 2000.

In customizing this e-mail program, I want the following to appear, but
battle to find where to do it or what exactly to change/select:
1 When creating an new mail message and then typing a name (that appears
in my "contacts"), in the "to" field, Jaws will for example only read: "
to ...Dave...". I want the full e-mail address to be displayed in the "to"
field and it musst be read by Jaws.

2 when receiving a e-mail, Jaws only read: for example "News 24 ...Sun 20
...". I would like to have the full date and time displayed and read by
Jaws.

Thanks.

Renette
