Many programs, such as OUTLOOK, have a feature in the Help menu called 'Detect and Repair'. It will scan the program and find and correct (usually) anomalies.

I've also found that when something seems awry, I will call up the configuration manager for that program, open the set options menu, maybe change a setting then change it back, and save. Sometimes it fixes the problem.

How does one do that?

Has anyone suggested trying the detect and repair feature?

Rebecca,
it gets even more curiouser and curiouser. I checked my setting in the options and the save a copy in the sent items box was checked. So I unchecked and sent a test message, and no message copy showed up in the sent items folder. So I went to the options again and checked the box that said save a copy of the message in the sent items folder. I sent another test message and nothing showed up in the sent items folder. I turned the computer off and on a couple of times and still no copy of the sent message was saved in the sent items folder.
It simply just does not work any more.
I hope it fixes itself. In the meantime I guess I can be sure I sent a message by sending a copy of the message to myself by putting my email address in the bcc field.
Thanks for the heads up, even though it did not work for me.

This would be something that only applies to your Outlook settings. Check your options in OE and make sure that you have checked the box that says "save sent messages". I'd bet it somehow got unchecked.

For the past two days no messages show up in my sent items folder in Outlook
Express. Yet I know some of these messages are being sent, since I have had
a response to a couple of them. Has this happened to any body else here?
Some times I wonder if I have sent a message to some one or made an inquiry
via email, and I can always check it out in my sent items folder to see if a
message has already been sent, and once a month I delete all of the messages
in my sent items folder except for the last couple of weeks or so.
Is there a way for my sent messages to start showing up in my sent items
folder again?
If so, let me know.
