Subject: creating rule for sending messages to a particular folder

Hi J.,

To get Email messages from a particular source sent to a particular folder, instead of staying in the InBox folder, do the following:

Pull down the Tools Menu and cursor down to Message Rules and cursor right to Mail in the SubMenu. The first item is Criteria, which has a list of 12 options; cursor down to: Where the To or CC line contains [people, and press the SpaceBar to check it. Then, Tab to the next item, which is Actions; once again, there are 12 options, so leave it on the first one, which is: Move it to the specified folder, and press the SpaceBar to check it. Next, Tab again and cursor down to the rule or rules that you want; you will hear the following: Where the To or CC line contains people, with the words, contains people, read twice, indicating that they are the underlined words, so Route JAWS to PC and Left mouse Click on one of those underlined words. Then, you can Tab once and type in a name that might appear in the To or CC line and press the SpaceBar on the Add button, or you can Tab a second time and choose an address from your address book, then click on OK. Now, cursor down once and you will hear, Move it to the specified folder, with specified being heard twice, so Route JAWS to PC and left mouse click on the word, specified; you will now get your list of folders, so cursor to the one you want these types of messages
to go to, and Tab to OK and press Enter. That should do it.

   Hope this helps,

   Don

Charles,

thank you for the checking account tip. I am looking into that.

I do have one other question you may be able to help with?

I use outlook express. I wish to create a rule for incoming emails from this list, to go to its own folder. would you happen to know how that is done?

I actually tried by memory, but the third portion, the part you fill in I guess the email address to filter, did not work.

Thank you for all though,

J. Black

Hello,

There are two programs that will keep track of your checks in the format you describe. The first one is from APH called Money Talk, cost is about $50.00 which can be found at www.aph.org and the second is free and can be obtained from the Freedom Scientific web site under the Pack Mate link. The program name is PM-checkbook. In PM-checkbook you can reconcile your balance with your banks record and a constant balance is maintained showing the balance of both cleared and out standing checks. You can add columns to enhance the checkbook features, such as the date the check was paid/cleared by the bank or setup a column to show when the check was mailed or given.

If you wish you can also setup your own method of tracking your expenses by using MSExcel.

Hope this will be of help.

Regards,

Charles

I am using Jaws 8. The newest version with windows XP Pro.

I would appreciate if someone can give me a program that keeps check numbers, balances, who the check is written to, etc. I will enter that info, but using quicken as I do, I must memorize the fields, because quicken won't speak them.

Thank you,

J. Black
