Hello. Well said. People can't even accidentally type in the wrong version
and the furor starts. I, personally could care less when the thing comes
out. When it's here, it's here.

Subject: constant harping about new versions

I have never understood the constant prattle about new versions. Freedom
Scientific has demonstrated that when they actually have something, whether
it be a public beta or a release, they know how to announce it. They know
how to market!
Dave has now announced, with some perception of certainty, that version 6
is coming out in October. Dave, with what authority do you make this
pronouncement? Also, how does it matter? Until it's out, we don't have
it. When it's out, we do. The endless questions and rumors don't alter
the release in any way. Based on history, we know the next version will
fix some problems, add some features, and create some new problems. I
appreciate that we have no control over people who join the list and then
ask about new versions, but it would be an enhancement to the quality of
the list of existing members refrained from discussing useless conjecture
until it turns from conjecture to certainty.
