Yes, although other methods work in accessing combo boxes, the "alt + down 
arrow" is the most consistent method; it is the suggested method given in 
manuals. When I am looking at ways to instruct students, I spend more time on 
finding the easiest and consistent methods than anything else.

  That exact thing happens when I go to the JC Penney web site.  I see a combo 
box and JAWS reports a number of items.  If I press down arrow to an option, 
the web page changes to the new selection, even if I didn't want to go there.  
It is indeed safer to press Alt down arrow to see your options, choose one and 
proceed from there.  Thanks for bringing that up.
