RE: check boxes in word

Thanks chip.  The form is not protected. So that would explain.  I will have to 
ask my sighted colleagues what they do.  I have just been going into the 
properties and changing the default to checked on the one I want.

It sounds like you have a form, which has become "unprotected".  when a form is 
unprotected, then it's just a normal document, and the controls are not 
functional.

you'll need to turn on the forms toolbar, and then find the button in this 
toolbar named "protect", and press it if it isn't pressed.  that turns back on 
forms protection.  this will make all the controls active again, and jaws will 
be able to tab between them.
