I don't think the problems you mention have anything to do with jaws. It's the terminal emulation. This is what I use:

Subject: best terminal emulation programs to use with jaws and best terminal emulation settings

I'm looking for a program which can communicate with a unix server via ssh that is compatable with jaws. By compatible I mean the use of arrow keys or other cursor manipulation keys such as controll-n and controll-p perform there intended function. I tried to use secure crt, but use of cursor manipulation under emacs, a editing program, resulted in strange characters appearing on the screen. The use of cygwin's ssh program with emacs means the top line of a file is cut off. It seems to have slightly less functionality then secure crt in terms of how well it performs with jaws.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Sean
