hi Michael,

go to

c:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{ACE3F9A5-01AB-441E-B67B-0597D504BB6C}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\

Replace the "user name" with your user name.

In the Outlook Express folder, you will see file name ended with *.dbx,
look for the file name that you whish to back-up and copy it out.

OK, I have a friend who want to back up outlook's rules, and his messages
before he formats. Can this be done, and how?
