Hello Gerald,
I couldn't agree with you more. Matter of fact, I have had a minor
difficulty with auto forms mode. If I use tab instead of enter on some sites
it does not return to forms mode in the next field and I have to shift tab
back to the prior field and hit enter for it to automatically return to the
next field and then I can type in without hitting enter or the space bar to
manually initiate forms mode.
Take care,
John

The bottom line, as far as I'm concerned is that FS still has not fixed
known bugs from previous versions of JAWS, yet they expect their customers
to shell out $200 every time they release a new version. To me, Auto Forms
mode is no big deal and certainly not worthpaying extra for. .

Okay. For what it's worth, here are my thoughts.

Every time FS comes out with a new version, there are always tons of people
who complain about the lack of features, and how they can't believe that FS
is charging for the upgrade. So now, FS has added the ability to move into
and out of forms mode automatically, and further, has given the user the
ability to choose whether or not they even want to use the feature, and
they're still getting blasted. We can't have it both ways. People want
features, so they're getting features, but the features aren't good enough.
They release a version that offers bug fixes and they're wrong yet again
because they didn't include new features. No matter what they do it's making
someone upset. And, for those that haven't even tried the beta yet, I would
suggest that you withhold judgment until you have tried it. You never know,
you might just find that you like it. Also, keep in mind that this is in
beta. Beta, as a rule, aren't perfect. By installing a beta, you're agreeing
to accept the fact that there may still be problems, which need to be
reported to FS. So, what do people really want? Just something to think
about.

Caroline

Nicely said Chris,
Once FS has the fundamentals working well then ad the bells and whistles, as
a long time user of the Windows operating system, MS-word, Outlook, Excel
and PowerPoint I could provide them with a lengthy list of suggestions. I do
understand that from a marketing standpoint it is easier to charge for
wazoo, gee-whiz enhancements then it is to charge for fixing known bugs.

Hi
I have been watching this thread and up-front I confess I have never used
Jaws 10 or Auto form mode but as a long time Jaws user and judging by the
comments made, I feel I must question the development policy of FS. They
seem to be directing resources into adding bells and whistles to something
which was working adequately in the first place, when they could have been
utilizing them to address issues where Jaws struggles or doesn't work at
all.

Is Orhan correct that this auto forms mode feature can be turned off? There
seems to be some disagreement about this...
Well, if it can, please disregard my former posts, oops, too late? oh
well, never mind.... ha ha
