that sounds sensible enough. But you see, I really don't have problems with 
other programs malfunctioning. Once in awhile I need to learn where to look 
for a menu item or learn a keyboard command, including the occasional detail 
I don't happen to know about Jaws from studying the documentaiton and using 
the application,and then I ask someone on one of these lists, if I can't 
find the answer in the program's help documentation. Mostly, though, I'm 
using IE, Word and OE for the most part, all day, and without ever any need 
for tech support. If I don't know how to get something to speak in the 
Winamp  interface, I just ask someone. For example.

So my only experience with this whole issue is with FS. That's it. I have no 
other computer problems for which I'd ever think of contacting tech support 
except for the problems introduced by the very technology that allows me to 
go on using the applications I was using before, with an exception or two. 
such as I don't know anyone sighted who's ever heard of Winamp[, for 
instance.

So maybe our experiences have been substantively different. But I get where 
you're coming from.

That seems to be the same way with most companies I've dealt with over the
last few years, not just jfw. There are just as many complaints about the
other similar products and many other programs as well, which is why I don't
call anymore, I learned to fix it myself.
