Had the same trouble using a second card on my computer. Mine is an Creative Audigy 4 Pro. Following all advice, nothing works. Exchanging this Audigy for an M-Audio Audiophile 2496. I hope this resolves the problem. Will report back if not. There may be some on board audio devices that just won't work with a second audio card. ----- Original Message ----- From: golden To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, April 10, 2006 5:42 PM Subject: Re: assigning another soundcard greetings i have also tried to create a dual sound card system on my xp machine for my jaws but have never been successful. my SBLlive seems to conflict with my on-board sound card which until now left unresolved. i remember doing it on my win 98 before upgrading to xp and it worked perfectly all right. i urgently need jaws on a secondary sound card as it is currently distracting my students in the class unnecessarily which is very much timely for me to respond to my students' feedback. your advice is greatly appreciated. regards. ----- Original Message ----- From: Stephen Faill To: Jaws mailing list Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 4:51 AM Subject: assigning another soundcard hello list i once had this information but have misplaced it. can anyone tell me the procedure for assigning jaws to a second soundcard? i also remember once the line has been added into the jfw.ini file i had to copy and paste a new file for the elequence synthesizer to recognise the new soundcard. could you also tell me where to get this file? any help is greatly appreciated. stephen
