Hi I read with interest. I get a bit confused with all these anti-virus
items
around. an engineer put on my xp laptop avg to scan daily it is8.5 he set
it
to do a scheduled scan at 7pm,if I forget to put the Pc on in time I will
look in tools and carry out a full system scan, this takes only a fraction
of the time the scheduled scan takes, which seems odd, on my New window 7
pc
I have Ms essentials which seems to run quietly in background, then again
someone once said "you cannot beat Ms Defender! can you tell me then what
is
Ms Defender is it an antivirus or a Firewall? Hope not to many questions
in

Neither MSE nor AVG Free Edition scan outgoing email messages. MSE scans
attachments, which is the only way you can trigger a virus in an incoming
email message. MSE is easier to use than AVG, and in recent comparison
tests, outscored AVG at malware detection. AVG has a built-in web link
scanner that alerts you to unsafe web pages, but this can be installed as
a
stand-alone application that complements MSE. Real time protection means
that the program automatically scans files for malware whenever they are
opened.

You should not use both AVG and MSE on the same PC because they both
provide real-time anti-virus protection and therefore could potentially
interfere with each other. I suggest keeping MSE and removing AVG. You
can
also keep Malware Bytes because it is only an on-demand scanner that will
not interfere with MSE.

conserned about the programme not having a scanner for emails. if so which
one should I remove from my system?
