The check for updates feature doesn't work in Adobe Reader. The latest version
is Adobe Reader 10.0, or Adobe Reader X, as it is more commonly called (X is
the Roman numeral for 10). This version has been available for more than two
months,so it wasn't just released.

Open Adobe Reader 9, go to help and arrow down to check for updates. See
what it says.

      Hi Dorothy & David;

I currently have an update for Adobe Reader showing in my FileHippo
update checker. Below is how it reads on the update checker webpage.
      Adobe Reader 10.0

        Installed Version: 9.4.0.195

I haven't installed it yet because I've heard that people have had
problems with this updated version. I'm waiting to hear more positive feedback
before updating. Take care.
      Mike

I am normally nudged by my stem to update adobe, but I have not told
about ten so far, are you all using it? is it OK? do I have to remove current
version first? I do not mean flash re flash however some weeks ago people on
the Bcab list in UK were discussing flaws with the company that makes it,they
were not happy about a few things and leonie watson of Nomensa was dealing with
the us company I expect it is sorted by now she is pretty persistent Dorothy
