No, you don't need to uninstall Adobe Reader 9.4 before installing Adobe Reader
10.

Adobe Reader 10 works fine with JAWS as long as you configure it right.
The tricky part is the Accessibility Set-Up Assistant which is automatically
invoked when you install Adobe Reader. In previous versions of Adobe Reader,
there was no need to change any settings in the Set-Up Assistant. However, in
Adobe Reader 10, on the fifth and last page of the Set-Up Assistant, there is
a check box labeled "Open PDF Files in the Browser" which is checked by
default. This check box must be unchecked or you may have problems getting
JAWS to read the PDF file. In previous versions of Adobe Reader, this check
box was unchecked by default. Who knows why Adobe made this change, but it
drove me crazy for hours until I finally figured out that this was why I was
having trouble with JAWS reading PDF files.

      Hi Dorothy & David;

I currently have an update for Adobe Reader showing in my FileHippo
update checker. Below is how it reads on the update checker webpage.
      Adobe Reader 10.0

        Installed Version: 9.4.0.195

I haven't installed it yet because I've heard that people have had
problems with this updated version. I'm waiting to hear more positive feedback
before updating. Take care.
      Mike

I am normally nudged by my stem to update adobe, but I have not told
about ten so far, are you all using it? is it OK? do I have to remove current
version first? I do not mean flash re flash however some weeks ago people on
the Bcab list in UK were discussing flaws with the company that makes it,they
were not happy about a few things and leonie watson of Nomensa was dealing with
the us company I expect it is sorted by now she is pretty persistent Dorothy
