Hi!

I'm not sure here if the ATNT Voices are SAPI 4 or SAPI 5. Let's assume
for the moment they are SAPI 5, as these are the easiest to set up.
Using JAWS 5.0.8* or 5.1, do the following:
1. Place focus on the JAWS Window (JAWSKey+J)
2. Activate the Options menu with Alt+O.
3. Press V to enter the Voices menu.
4. Press Enter to except Global Adjustment...
5. Tab three times to the Person combo box. Now you can select a person!
Which person?
The ATNT Voices are installed and are prefixed by a name. I'm really not
sure, but it could be "ATNT" or "Next Up" I'm not the word that's set in
stone here.
6. When you've selected your person, press Enter to select the OK button
and leave the dialog.

If the voices are SAPI 4, or you do not see them when you perform the
steps above:
1. Place focus on the JAWS Window (JAWSKey+J)
2. Open the Language menu with Alt+L.
3. Press C for Change Synthesizer.
4. Press S until you here SAPI 4 Detect...
5. Press Enter.
6. If a dialog comes up saying there are no additional synthesizers to
add, you might as well quit reading this section of the message. If you
get a list of synthesizers:
7. Tab Twice to the Add All button and press Enter.
Now you should be able to press CTRL+JAWSKey+S for Select a Synthesizer
and select ATNT or whatever they are called. If someone can send the
JAWS names for the ATNT synthesizers to the list this would be helpful.

As per your second question:
As far as I am aware, you cannot change synthesizers from application to
application. At least, not in default out-of-the-box JAWS. The only way
I've found is calling the SwitchToSynth() function in a script. This
function does not retain what synthesizer you selected before the
function was called, so you can't change synthesizer back to what it was
without knowing which one you had running.

I hope this helps:
Matthew Horspool
