my first ever screen reader is HAL for DOS with an external synthesizer call
apollo and work with DOS5, later DOS6.22.

when I started to use windows 95, my first screen reader is HAL95 with a PCMCIA
synthesizer but I forgot the brand.

Hello all,

Without getting off topic regarding Jaws, I'd be interested to know what
your first memories of screen readers are. Mine begin with Jaws 3.2 on an
old Gateway PC back in 1997. Good oal Doubletalk PC couldn't even handle the
Romance languages for heaven's sake!

Thanks,

Ben
