I believe the security center is more than the firewall.  I think it
checks to make sure that you have some sort of firewall running, and
notifies you if you don't.  I think it also checks to make sure you have
some sort of antivirus running, and that it's up to date, and notifies
you if  you don't or it's not.

I don't think I'd automatically get rid of it.
