Cher, well, one way would be to upgrade to word 2003, since I know it does say the paragraph marks in that version. Another way would be to save the word 2002 scripts and associated files off to some other directory, and then copy the ones for word 2003 to the names of the ones for 2002 (using the later scripts in other words for word 2002). That must be where the problem is, in the scripts and/or associated config or other files. hth, Chip ------------------------------ Chip Orange Database Administrator Florida Public Service Commission Chip.Orange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (850) 413-6314 (Any opinions expressed are solely those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Florida Public Service Commission.) ________________________________ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Cher Bosch Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2008 4:12 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Word-showing paragraph marks I talked with FS and the tech was not sure whether it was a deliberate change (because lots of folks called them complaining because they'd accidentally done the control-shift-8 keystroke and didn't know how to undo it) or if the change was an accident. He said that the early builds of JAWS9 were not this way, only the later ones. He wrote it up, so hope they'll either fix it or inform us if there is a new way to get around the problem. Cher
