I just wanted to say that I used the thesaurus earlier but pressed the applications button and got all the synonyms or word definitions for the word that was highlighted. Thanks for the applications key tip. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Harmon" <rharmon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi YardBird, Here is the info you requested. Rick----- Original Message ----- From: <jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 15, 2007 7:48 AM Subject: RE: Word 2003 and the thesaurus Nicol, Yes it is possible to get Word 2003 to use the same Thesaurus dialogue as Word 2000 (or Word 97, come to that). In Word, open the Tools menu and choose Customise. Tab to the Keyboard button and press it. In the Categories list, go to Tools. Tab to the Commands list and go to ToolsThesaurus. Note that the one below this is ToolsThesaurusRR. The former is the old style dialogue, while the latter is the newfangled one. By default the Shift + F7 is assigned to ToolsThesaurusRR, and what you want to do is reassign the keystroke to ToolsThesaurus. While on ToolsThesaurus, Tab to the "press new shortcut key edit" and press Shift + F7. Press Enter twice, the first time to reassign the keystroke, the second to close the dialogue and return to the Customise dialogue. Tab to the Close button and press it. You should now find that the Shift + F7 keystroke opens the old dialogue. If you want to use the new system, you can still get to it from the Tools menu, Language submenu. I know blind people from various lists have been complaining about this. This is my company's disclaimer and I have asked them several times to put it at the bottom, but they refuse. They say its policy for the disclaimer piece to be at the top of each outgoing message. This is out of my control. I can't manually put it at the bottom. Its not a signature that appears when I write the message. When I press control+n, a blank message appears. Only when I press alt+s for send the firewall adds this disclaimer piece to the top of the message. Sorry for this. I have the same problem. At work I was first using office 2000, but they upgraded us to 2003. I asked them to downgrade me to 2000 again but they refused. At home I have office 2000. Is there a way I can install the thesaurus of 2000 onto the 2003 office at work? Its only the thesaurus of office 2003 that bothers me, other than that 2003 is ok. I have a 2 gig flash drive, so if there's a way I can copy the thesaurus of 2000 and install onto the 2003 office it would be great. thanks -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of tickpub@xxxxxxxx Sent: 14 January 2007 06:51 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Word 2003 and the thesaurus Yes about the 2003 thesaurus, a real pain. Thought I was the only one that was upset at MS for messing with a good thing. Why their techs got to keep wrecking a good thing with what they think to be good ideas is technology at its worst! I might go back to 2000 just for the same reasons. The worst thing is once you do anything with the thesaurus you get stuck with the Task Paine thing being checked and now you got to go into the view menue and unclick it. Is there a way to shut off that Task Paine thing forever?
