Here's your problem. The mouse doesn't follow the PC cursor, period. That's why the JAWS cursor exists. The PC cursor is built into Windows, but until the advent of JAWS, was only really used to keep track of where you were typing, and maybe some more minor things. JAWS didn't change that all too much, but instead added the JAWS cursor to attempt to simulate mouse movements/clicks. So if you end up using the PC cursor and hitting the left mouse button, you will end up where the PC cursor is. There's no way around that unless you've switched on the JAWS cursor. Although, for the record, you don't need to point and click to get into the system tray; either insert f11 will work, or you can just tab to it if you have XP in classic mode.

Hi again,

This is what I am attempting to do but everytime I go to use the left or right click numpad buttons, jaws clicks where the cursor is on the screen, not where I've navigated to with the PC cursor. It's like jaws itself isn't in sync with where I want the mouse to navigate to.

You should navigate to where you want to click with the Jaws cursor and use the left mouse button on the numpad to click on what you want. The easiest way to deal with the system tray is hold down the Jaws key and hit F 11. Then you can arrow through and enter on the items.

Hey everyone,

You can tell I have a new computer because the questions keep coming!

When I try and use the numpad as the mouse I run into a problem. Instead of clicking where I navigate to using the numpad, the left mouse button on the numpad clicks where the cursor from the actual mouse is on the screen. This makes it impossible to access icons from my system tray and often results in
me clicking on the desktop or an open window instead.

Any ideas as to how this can be fixed? Thanks in advance!

-Marc
