Nermin,
As I do know, it happens only with Wlm version 2008 but if you install the newest version, Wlm 2009 you sure have full control and you can view the folders and when you highlight the one you wish, you can tab once into its messages.

let me put it this way.
I don't want Windows Live Mail to decide for me when it will virtually press Tab to focus the message list. I would just like to review the folders one by one, without WLM taking me into the list within milliseconds.

Try unchecking "automatically open folders with unread messages" in the general tab of options.

Hi all,
is there any way around the tree view of Windows Mail or Live Mail, when navigating the message folders? Whenever a new mail is received, Windows Mail wants to be clever, and puts me directly in the message list, making navigating the whole folder structure nearly impossible. Does Microsoft provide an alternative for this, or any hidden option to tweak this setting? 

And don't tell me to use Thunderbird or other products ;-)
This is for a friend, who is not knowledgeable about Computers and installation procedures.
