Dan, see my earlier post on this subject. there are are all kinds of keystrokes built into these jaws scripts. you can find the elapsed time of the current track, announce the time length of the track, remaining time of the track, etc.
Relax, man. It's really ok.

Oh my God, that's a lot of hassle. I'm not a recording engineer. I don't
care about the time. I just care where I am in a long podcast or something.
In fact, how on eartham I supposed to find out the elapsed time at any given
point at which I feel like placing a marker? Why aren't these just place
markers, like the index tones in an NlS audiotape (an American service for
the blind provided by the Library of Congress)?

Oh, wow. This is complicated.

hi Yardbird, yes, you just press "M" during the file is playing and you need to key-in the time on the edit box. to get the time, pause the playback by pressing "C" then press CTRL+J to get the time and key-in at the edit box.

you mean, you just press M while a file is playing? You don't first open a mmenu, or press a control key combo in volving M? That sounds odd. enuy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allan Wong" <allanwkf@xxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, October 26, 2006 5:59 PM Subject: Winamp and Jaws

hi Yardbird, the keystroke are:

M = set time marker to the current track
alt+shift+M = Jump to the time marker in the current track
ctrl+shift+M = remove the time marker from the currently playing track

Gary,

Thanks. I installed it a couple of hours ago and figured that out when that
dialogue came up during the install. Because it described the classic skin
as having something to do with accessibility.

Again, thanks for thinking to say that.

By the way, do you remember that keystroke for placing a time marker in a
file that's playing, and for returning to it?

Yardbird,

Just be sure when installing Winamp to uncheck Modern Skin Support so that
Winamp will use the Classic interface that works with JAWS.
