I've set my activeX to prompt me, nothing new needed to be downloaded. If I
could get into the site with a normal ftp client where I could browse the
directory structure, I could see if the file just isn't all there. An
interesting thing is the site bruce posted also didn't let me install winamp.
It too downloaded about 200KB using IE. Normal ftp clients worked fine.

I downloaded the latest version of Jaws--the one released April 5, 2005. I had
not downloaded it yet--was still using 6.0. (didn't want to get a string going
about another new version of Jaws--which there is not)
Anyway, I had no problems downloading this program so for me also, it seems that
just the Winamp 5.09 causes any problems. I suppose I could try turning McAfee
off and then doing the download.
In speaking with some folks privately though they seem to feel that it may be
something to do with XP's active exe controls.
Maybe someone else has info re this issue.
